Grandmaster's Birthday Party at the Food Bank

My sincerest gratitude and heartfelt thanks to all of the students & their families who joined me at the Food Bank of Contra Costa on Saturday, August 31st to celebrate my belated birthday. You all did a fantastic job boxing fruits, placing bread on trays and stapling flyers on bags. Also, you donated over 400 pounds of food. What awesome teamwork! It was my BEST birthday celebration ever!! Many thanks! ~Grandmaster

Father's Day Softball Game & Family Day

What an awesome time we had at our Father's Day Softball Game Saturday, June 29th! All of the guys did a great job out on the field and all the moms and kids were "super fans" cheering on the dads, brothers, uncles and grandpas! We served unlimited sno-cones to cool off both the kids and adults. The water gun challenge was a great addition to this year's event, it was so much fun and totally refreshing on that hot day! The finale was the much anticipated tug-of-war. If you missed it, don't fret... We are sure to repeat it again next year!

American Shaolin Kenpo Karate motivates me to keep being the best that I can. I will be honest and admit that I stopped practicing Shaolin Kenpo for my first few years in college. I personally felt that I needed to pursue other interests and use my energy in other ways. I meant no disrespect to my teachings or training, it was just my decision. At first, I was relieved at all of the free time in my schedule. Then, things started to slip... My weight had shot up to 240+lbs. I was slower, less energetic & less focused. It took a few eye-opening experiences to make me realize that I needed Shaolin Kenpo back. I re-started my honest training 18 months ago & NOW, I'm a newly Athletic 181 lbs! I owe it to God, my family, and the lifelong lessons that were taught to me by my 2nd family at the Antioch Martial Arts Academy. THANK GOD FOR AMAA!
